         Low-carbon economy is an economic mode based on low energy consumption, low pollution and low emission to deal with the global climate warming. It is generally established with the low-carbon energy supply, energy consumption, life style and financial system. Moreover, the low-carbon economy takes low-carbon policy system as reliable basis and is consolidated and strengthened by low-carbon market system. 

         

        The CERI eco Technology Co. Ltd. has engaged in low-carbon business of iron and steel industry for more than ten years. CERI eco has been elected into the intermediary organization repository of energy conservation and emission reduction of Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform since 2013. And in 2014, it was first selected into the list of third-party evaluation agencies of energy management system and carbon emission management system in Beijing. Thus, CERI 

         

        eco can provide consulting services on the construction of energy management system and carbon emission management system for the enterprises, such as training, guiding, evaluating, etc. It has compiled the standards: “Technical Norm for Assessment on Greenhouse Gases Emission Reduction Effect of Waste Energy Utilization Project in Iron and Steel Industry” and “Instruction to Quantification and Report of Greenhouse Gases Emission – Iron and Steel Industry”, which are established as national standards with approval of the National Standard Committee of China. The company has also completed the research of the topic “Low-carbon and Environment-friendly Growth of Industry in China – Analysis on Iron and Steel Industry”, which is a topic authorized by the Development Research Center of the State Council, and undertaken the preparation on the list of carbon emission calculating model and low-carbon supporting technologies for iron and steel industry and the relevant standard, which is a project of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, provided with special fund for technological innovation.

         

        Since 2001, the company has undertaken the Sino-Holand cooperation project on coping with climate change and the waste-heat power generation projects of Nanjing Steel, Baotou Steel, Maanshan Steel, Bayi Steel, Liuzhou Steel, etc. Moreover, the company has undertaken the projects of other industries like the waste-heat power generation project of Tongling Shangfeng Cement Co. and the CDM project development of Xiapu Hydropower Co., covering about 20 enterprises of iron and steel, cement and hydropower sectors, which are well accepted by famous enterprises and institutions at home and abroad. Up to now, among the CDM projects developed by the company, 18 projects are approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and 11 projects are successfully registered in the CDM Executive Administrative Committee of the United Nations, in which the CDM projects of iron and steel industry registered in the United Nations account for 30% of the total of the projects in China.

         

        The company further improves the assessment on greenhouse gases emission status of steel enterprises and the research of low-carbon development program. It has undertaken the assessment on CO2 emission status and the research of low-carbon development for the steel enterprises like Jiuquan Steel, etc. In this program, the carbon flow is formed based on such data as basic annual material balance and energy balance of enterprise, CO2 emission status is calculated and analyzed with the software model “Greenhouse Gases Emission Analysis System of Steel Enterprise”, and low-carbon development program of enterprise is worked out in order that the enterprise can be conscious of its CO2 emission status and the emission reduction potential.
